I found a school website where numerous teacher pages are linked. While going through the grade levels I saw that at least 1 teacher has a website linked. However, the teacher pages did not give me much to work with. They seemed to be very short, with just an introduction to their name, subject, and grade level, with a possible inclusion of a graphic or their contact information. When comparing them to the website I am designing for Assignment #3, it seemed very relaxed, minimal, and not very informative, from a parent's perspective. However, I would like to give credit to the school for having such a user friendly way for how they presented each teacher page. Overall, I was very unimpressed with the content provided in the teacher pages.  Link to School Website        I envision myself using technology daily to accomplish my professional responsibilities more efficiently and effectively. The first thing I would want to have as a teacher is a...

I chose the Florida Standard SC.912.TI.1.6. This standard applies towards 9-12th grade levels to be able to explain the personal impacts that technology has on our daily lives. An example of a technology that impacts our daily lives is smart watches. I, for example, have an Apple Watch, which tracks my health and also sends me notifications. This helps me see my progress at the gym, but I also tend to get distracted by the notifications on my watch, pulling me away from class, a conversation, or my focus from my outside surroundings. I do not feel prepared to implement this standard based on my current skill set because if my own technology can negatively impact my own life, how should I hold my students equally as responsible? However, I think that with having my personal experience it would allow for me to easily relate to my students about the impacts that technology has on their lives.      When looking at the resources, I chose to be a 4th grad...

My experience with blogging for this class has been extremely positive! I like that I get to reflect on the prior week's happenings. I also like that I get to just ramble on by responding to the prompts, which allows me to just word vomit without speaking. I also enjoy that we have a class blog where I can read other student's blog posts and get to read their thoughts and feelings. One thing I do not fully enjoy is the time it takes me to complete the blogs, since I have so much to write, it takes me longer than it probably should. I have learned the importance of reflection during this blogging process. I have only blogged once during middle school, which I found enjoyable. However, I never understood why until this class, as it allows for me to reflect on what we are covering in class in a manner other than taking a written assignment to present my knowledge of the topic.       When talking about artificial intelligence in education, I think tha...

When visiting the Tech Sandbox last week, I was amazed by all the technological offerings present in such a small space. I particularly enjoyed the 3D printing pens, as that was fun to doodle with. If I were to envision myself using any of the tools in my future classroom, I would see myself using the SMART boards. I grew up with my teachers using them throughout my lower-class years, and I found it to be a very efficient and interactive way to teach classroom material. I think I would implement it by creating stations for my students to write the main ideas learned in the units and/or a way for me to create an "enter ticket" for my students.     The first social media platform I ever downloaded was TikTok during the pandemic. This platform I mainly used for entertainment to keep me busy during my downtime. I then downloaded Instagram and Pinterest in my freshman year of high school. I used Instagram to post major events, but also connect with my friends and ...
